PROCEEDINGS

Authors are invited to submit papers for inclusion in a special issue of the Journal of Electroceramics, Harry L. Tuller, Editor-in-Chief. Acceptance of papers is subject to peer review.

For full manuscript submission, please follow the instructions as found on the website of the Journal of Electroceramics (http://www.kluweronline.com/issn/1385-3449).
NOTE: Manuscripts for ICE-2003 are due by 3 August 2003.

Manuscript length:

Plenary    10 pages
Invited    8 pages
Contributed    4 pages

Calculating Manuscript Length:

Text Multiply the number of LINES OF TYPE per page by the number of CHARACTERS (including blank spaces) per line by the number of full pages of the paper. You can also use the "word count" feature, available in most word processors to obtain the number of characters (including spaces).
Divide the result by 4600. That formula is for full pages of text only, so this is the TYPED MANUSCRIPT ESTIMATE.
Tables and figures Count four figures as one page, because they can be reduced if necessary. With tables, on the other hand, you have to consider that they may not be legible if reduced, so you have to estimate how much of a page it will take up.

In the end, you add the result of the typed estimate to the result of the figures/tables estimate.

Here's an example:

  • 25 lines of type x 100 characters per line x 10 paper pages = 25000
    Divided by 4600 = 5.43, i.e. 51/2 pages.
  • (8 figures = 2 pages) + (4 tables = 1 page) = total of 3 pages
  • This paper would be estimated at 8.5 pages. (5.5 + 3 = 8.5)
To begin the proceedings submission process, go to https://jecr.edmgr.com and use your logon information used for abstract submission (This link will take you outside the ICE-2003 website to the Journal of Electroceramics Editorial Manager.)

Should you encounter difficulties with the submission process, or have any comments as to its ease/difficulty of navigation, please contact ice-2003@mit.edu.
